Design Notes
Differently from bacterial terminators, S. cerevisiae terminators contain a hexamer sequence, an efficiency element, that strongly resembles the eukaryotic TATA box i.e. the promoter sequence recognized and bound by RNA polymerase II. ADH1 terminator is used as an expression-enhancing terminator to increase mRNA half-life and improve gene expression control for metabolic engineering applications.
